It’s no secret I love The Osmonds and now a new Osmond is trying his hand on American Idol.
May I remind my international readership that we are a few weeks behind the US, so if he didn’t survive ‘Hollywood Week’ don’t tell me, don’t want to know.
David, son of Alan, the eldest of the singing [...]

An Anime Emergency and A First Train Ride.
I was at work today when I got a sudden and urgent phonecall from Kevvers.
I wasn’t actually teaching today, Sundays are usually off, but with the school year ending I had a load of cleaning up and sorting out to do.
Things, which had I done any planning aforethought, I would have had myself four fit [...]

When Girls Get Together.
It’s always fun to get together with the gal pals.
I’m fortunate I have a great bunch of friends that I hook up with at least once a week. One of my friends lives next door and we do our morning walk together.
Someone asked me recently ” what do you talk about with your Japanese gals?”
What [...]

A Stella Day.
It was stellar with Stella. We had great coffees and chatted a blue streak, like we’d known each other half our lives. Must do it again SOON.
Came home, someone has had their phone confiscated ( again) and I am not mentioning any names, but she isn’t speaking to me, and I will enjoy the temporary [...]

Hey Baby It’s The Telephone Man.
Except it isn’t, he is no more, NTT has gone, no longer exists apparently. Which is a problem for me because it is NTT who have cut our phone off, and NTT who we have to pay and NTT who have to turn it back on.
I wont go into the boring details of a certain [...]

Graduation Looming
So Doris’ sankan was an unexpected treat.
The 6th graders are nearly finished now, they graduate on March 19th and then it’s the thrill of Junior High School.
So yesterday it was the whole of the 6th grade in the gym giving us a great musical performance.
No Fur Elise within a five mile radius, don’t know what [...]

Making Miso
I’ve been a busy beaver today. Me and my gal pals got together to make miso.
It wasn’t difficult, but I confess I did at some point get sick of mashing and smushing.
Mrs A. ordered all the stuff we needed from a local natural foods co-op,. The koji spore came ready to go and the soy [...]

Cleaning Up The Boys’ Room. (despatches from the frontline.)
Decided it was high time I sorted out the boys’ room yesterday, and it ended up being quite a trip, down Memory Lane that is, not trip trippy like with acid.
Cleaning their room , I took my life in my hands, a HazMat suit would have been useful.
There was mounds of stuff that looked [...]

The Emotional Setpoint
Working on this with help from my dear friend Aura. The list in the LOA book doesn’t really suit me so she suggested I make my own as she did.
I now believe that my bottom line, my ‘22′ would be ‘unbridled rage’.
So ‘21′ has just got to be one step up from that, how hard [...]

SANKANBI
Today was ’sankanbi’ at the school. that is when the parents mothers turn up to watch the lesson. It usually involves whispering in the corridor about the horrors of yakkuin or how best to lose 10lbs by next Friday, but today, being the last sankanbi of the school year, the kids all did a little [...]
